Rev. Theophile Meerschaert …When Bishop Theophile Meerschaert stepped off the train at Purcell on September 18, 1891, he was a husky, healthy  44-year-old man. He had been consecrated a bishop for Indian Territory only ten days earlier in Natchez,Mississippi... credit to the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City.
